The annual monitoring surveys1 of the business attitude to the problems and prospects of foreign economic activity of enterprises show that in 2006 the manager’s point of view on key directions of economic integration continued changing. In particular, the western vector of integration remained a priority and the number of its followers kept on growing, however, the number of the Eastern vector supporters rose again in 2006 after decreasing in 2000.

In 2005, the authorities paid particular attention to foreign economic relations. Co-operation between the authorities and business on the principles of transparency, mutual trust and support is a key factor of effective reform of the national economy and transition of the country to the sustainable economic development.
