Business Tendency Surveys: Industry are quarterly monitoring perceptions and expectations of managers regarding changes in overall economic conditions, production and financial performance at the firm level. This publication provides with the overall picture of current economic performance in Ukraine as well as the insight about future tendency of business cycle in the country. It includes the early warning indicators such as leading and coincident ones. There are four publications of the Business Surveys: Industry per year available to participants of the surveys and to subscribers.

In October the managers’ assessment of the current overall economic situation has decreased compared to July: both weighted and unweighted values of the index of the current business situation have declined, respectively from -0.09 in July to -0.14 in October and from -0.07 to -0.19.
In the framework of the project "Business Survey" the third issue of the quarterly enterprise survey No.3 (41) was issued.
For the first time since 2001 a liquidity problem took the first place in the list of impediments for business activity of industrial enterprises, this happened against a background of the trend to worsening of respondents’ estimations of the availability and the affordability of bank loans for enterprises, observed for the last 4 quarters in succession.
The Industrial Confidence Indicator decreased by 8 points in February 2012 compared to October 2011 and made up +0.07. It happened mostly because of the significant deterioration of the production plans of the enterprises for the next 3 months: the value of the corresponding indicator has dropped from 0.25 to +0.03 (for details see PRODUCTION INDICATORS).
