In Ukraine is a consensus growing about the necessity to join the WTO. Now discussions are focused on the analysis of costs and benefits for specific sectors and some other related problems. But the important issue of national policy-making in the post-accession period was not even mentioned yet.

We argue, that the implementation of commitments related to the membership in WTO must become part of wider reform efforts, due to their profound impact upon national policy-making, and

We propose both, a number of measures to accelerate Ukraine’s WTO accession, and the implementation of new approaches to economic policymaking consistent with WTO disciplines.
