Aim of the Project:: Training of IDPs and local residents in cutting and sewing, issuing a certificate of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with the qualification of Tailor of the 2nd grade, introducing the skills of bold design ideas for the production of creative clothing collections that will speak about a free Ukraine, express a public position.
Additional Information:
Activities within the project are aimed at IDPs and local residents who want to find employment and self-realization. The target audience is schoolchildren aged 14-18, IDPs and local residents aged 19-70 with creative thinking, creative implementation and the desire to open their own business, enterprises and entrepreneurs wishing to hire workers in these professions.
Therefore, during the implementation of the project, it is provided:
During the reporting period, theoretical classes with a total duration of 192 hours (26 days) were held.
The following topics were considered at the theoretical classes:
Modern clothing and requirements for it. Types of clothing and their purpose;
Tools and devices used in sewing women's clothing;
Organization of the workplace when performing manual work;
Types of stitches: straight sweeping, laying, copying;
Stitches of permanent purpose: basting, hidden understitching, cruciform understitching, manual stitching, looping;
Terminology of handicrafts;
Machine seams: connecting, edge, finishing;
Connecting seams: stitched, stitched, sewn, overlay, double seam in a "lock";
Edge seams: seam in the hem with an open cut, seam in the hem with a closed cut, facing seam, edging seam with an open cut, edging seam with a closed cut;
Finishing seams: seam seam with a blind edge, seam seam with a loose edge, relief seam, folds and pinches;
Tasks facing employees of the garment industry;
Brief information on the history of the development of sewing production;
Machinery;
Malfunctions in the operation of sewing machines: causes and methods of elimination;
Technical care of sewing machines;
Sewing accessories;
Classification of sewing cotton threads;
Obtaining data when measuring the figure (taking measurements), etc.
During the reporting period, practical classes with a total duration of 212 hours (34 days) were held.
The following skills were acquired during practical classes:
Measurements: half bust, half waist, half hip, chest width, chest center, chest height, length to waist, shoulder width, sleeve length, shoulder to upper arm, back width, back to waist length, product length;
Construction of a two-seam skirt;
Construction of a six-blade;
Construction of eight blades;
Construction of a semi-flare skirt;
The construction of the skirt is full flared;
Tailoring a skirt;
Drawing up a drawing of typical (classic) pants and taking new measurements: pants length, inseam length, knee width, bottom width;
Construction of the base of the bodice;
Modeling of leaks;
Construction of the dress;
Construction of a single-seam sleeve;
Professional and practical training: sewing machine, straight stitch machine, four-thread and five-thread overlock, wet-heat processing of parts.
Equipment was purchased with grant funds - a "Typical" five-thread overlock machine (photo attached), which was used for conducting practical classes.
The following activities were carried out within the framework of the project:
- Workshops on making hand-made dolls.
- Bead weaving master class: weaving bracelets and necklaces.
- An excursion to the sewing industry at the Curtain Studio, where our students received a lot of information about the types of fabrics, the advantages and disadvantages of each type of fabric, and the peculiarities of their care.
- Excursion to the sewing production of FOP Voychyshyn K.M. - course participants familiarized themselves with the basics of the organization of the sewing process, the peculiarities of arranging a seamstress' workplace, as well as with various sewing equipment.
- Filming and interviews for Ternopil television - on August 8, at 7:30 p.m., TV-4 channel hosted the premiere of the program "Dyakuyutobi", where the guests of the studio were the employees of the NGO "Creative Hub Berezhany" and students of the "Berezhany" Atelier School.
- Meeting of employees of the public organization and schoolgirls to discuss further plans and ideas;
- Conducting a round table on the topic "Prospects of employment and self-realization through opening one's own business."
- Participation in the opening of the Art Space "Ukrainian Cosmos" by the Honored Artist of Ukraine Oleg Shupliak, which was held in the Berezhany Castle of the Sinyavskyi - students of the "Berezhany" Atelier School took part in the decoration of the castle's exhibition hall with fabrics, and also held master classes on making dolls- coils for all visitors to the exhibition.
- Psychological trainings. Psychological training on the topic: "Restoration of internal and external resources" was held together with the BF "Caritas Berezhany".
- Excursion in the village Zarvanytsia is the spiritual center of Greek Catholics in Ternopil Oblast.
- To the Independence Day of Ukraine, a contest of patriotic videos "FLOWERING. FREE. INDEPENDENT" was held among students of schools and preschools in the Berezhany community. Students of the "Berezhany" Atelier School participated in the selection of winners among the contestants. And on the occasion of the Day of Knowledge on September 1, 2023, all the winners of the competition were awarded diplomas and gift certificates from the Public Organization "Creative HAB of Berezhany" with the support of the MHP.
- Round table on the topic "History of creating your own brand". The owner of the MartelleLingerie sewing brand, Kateryna Mykhailivna Voychyshyn, was invited to this event.
- Participation in the celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine (presentation of a wooden Map of Ukraine made of dolls with a record of Ukraine and entry into the Book of Records of Ukraine).
- On September 5, 2023, a solemn event was held on the occasion of the completion of studies, at which all graduates were awarded Certificates of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine awarding the qualification of Tailor of the 2nd grade.
