Implementation Project Area: Dnipropetrovsk, Zakarpattia, Kyiv, Vinnytsia regions
Project Period: 01.08.2022-30.11.2022
Project status: completed
Aim of the Project: to provide Luhansk area residents and other interested persons with verified and socially relevant information about current events in the region, to create and display unique news and copyright content on the "Weekly Content" portal in order to counter russian misinformation and support social links among the Luhansk region inhabitants.
Additional Information: activities of the project are to produce and distribute high quality relevant content dedicated to the illumination of life, problems and needs of the people of the Luhansk area.
The content will consist of the systematic production of news, the production of its own material and the organization of meetings of the discussion platform.
Main target audience for the project: residents of the Luhansk region, including those who were forced to leave the active combat zone and move to safer areas. And those who for various reasons we have to remain on the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk. As a separate target audience are considered those for whom events in the Luhansk region are of professional interest (analysts, monitoring specialists, journalists, political scientists, etc.).
The organisation has been working in the Luhansk area for eight years, promoting the ideas of democracy and freedom of expression. Conscious of the role of news, an independent media platform was created in 2015, which has become a unifying platform for the journalistic community in Luhansk. Platform works by adhering to journalistic standards and using the recommendations of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine on the lighting of events in wartime. All materials produced by the editorial office must pass the fact check, indicate a reference to the primary source (except when the editorial office cannot disclose its own sources for reasons of safety). The entire team of the project are people connected to Luhansk. They are all now internally displaced persons, many for the second time. Therefore, it is clear to us how important it is in difficult times to maintain ties and a sense of belonging to a community that shares common values.
Project results:
- 506 news stories prepared and published on the "Content of the Week" portal
- 32 articles were published
- 4 sessions of the discussion forum were held
