Aim of the Project: to strengthen the capacity of regional CSOs to influence democratic processes in Ukraine through effective tools providing, to improve communication with the authority and to develop common practices for its cooperation, which were defined in the project survey of 2020 challenges impact on democratic processes in Ukraine.
Additional Information: 2020 triggered significant changes to the people’s life in Ukraine and to the government activities. Crucial factor for these changes was COVID-19 pandemic. The situation in the regions was also affected by the local elections. Mentioned events have changed the means of access of the population to power and influence local authorities’ activities, since quarantine restrictions did not allow personal meetings ant public gatherings, etc. At the same time, there are opportunities to change approaches between the interaction of the government and population. According to the experience of the project team regional monitoring visits, new/appointed authorities are ready for implementing changes and cooperation with local CSOs by taking into account other regional best pandemic experience. Indicated aspects had reflected in the application for budget programs elaboration based on the regional authorities and CSOs received.
