On December 15, 2010 Ukraine has formally completed the process of accession to the Treaty on the establishment of the Energy Community of EU and Southeast Europe after ratification of the relevant law by the Parliament. From 1 February 2011 Ukraine officially has become a full member of the Community. Both from the representatives of Ukraine and the EU officials in recent months sounded optimistic statements about the prospects offered to Ukraine after the adaptation of national legislation to the relevant EU Directives.
