• Ukraine: Overview of the Economy

  Objective: 

  • To provide a basic overview of the dynamics  of economic transformation processes of Ukraine for the period of 1990-2006;
  • To forecast the period  of 2007 – 2015 regarding Ukraine’s development paths and structural reforms.
  Task:

  • to review the dynamics  of economic transformation processes of Ukraine for the period of 1990-2006;
  • to prepare the forecasts for the periods from 2007 to 2010 and from 2010 to 2015 on possible ways of Ukraine’s development, including a review of convergence criteria and perspectives for EU membership;
  • to present research results at the round table.
  Results:

  • overview of the dynamics  of economic transformation processes of Ukraine for the period of 1990-2006;
  • forecasts for the periods from 2007 to 2010 and from 2010 to 2015 on possible ways of Ukraine’s development, including a review of convergence criteria and perspectives for EU membership;
  • presentation of research results at the round table on February 27, 2008.
