  • Ukraine’s Foreign Trade: Quantitative and Qualitative assessment of Trends and Strategy

    Objective: 

    To identify and describe the main components of the trade regime in Ukraine, to analyse revenues in the form of payments related to foreign trade (import duties, fees, etc..) to describe non-tariff barriers.

    Task:
    • to analyse import duties that were in force in Ukraine in 1993 - 2003; 
    • to analyse non-tariff restrictions  in Ukraine in 1993 - 2003; 
    • to prepare the applied general equilibrium model; 
    • to quantify the economic consequences of Ukraine's WTO accession using applied general equilibrium
    • odel for Ukraine's economy in general as well as for specific sectors; 
    • to analyse bilateral and multilateral agreements between Ukraine and countries of the CIS; 
    • to analyse economic cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union.
    Results:
    • analysis of import duties that were in force in Ukraine in 1993 - 2003; 
    • analysis of non-tariff restrictions in Ukraine in 1993 - 2003; 
    • applied general equilibrium model; 
    • quantitative assessment of the economic consequences of Ukraine's WTO accession using applied general equilibrium model for Ukraine's economy in general as well as for specific sectors;
    • analysis of bilateral and multilateral agreements between Ukraine and countries of the CIS; 
    • analysis of economic cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union.
