  • Investments as a Path to the Effective Economic Development of the Territories: Best practices, Barriers, Obstacles and the Ways to Overcome Obstacles (based on the example of Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv Oblasts)

    Objective: 

    To carry out an analysis of investment activity in the designated Oblasts and to offer to regional and local government authorities specific instruments and mechanisms for the intensification of investment activity and attraction of investments into economic development of the territorial communities based on the obtained results and international best practices.

    Task:
    1. Assessing the state of investment activity in Dnipropetrovsk and Lviv Oblasts of Ukraine. This task envisages analysis of official statistics and other relevant information pertaining to the investment activity in the two Oblasts. 
    2. Identifying best practices for the management of investment-driven development of the regions/cities/towns of the above Oblasts. This task envisages an in-depth analysis of the investment activity management and finding the best and most successful practices to be recommended to other cities/towns/regions.
    3. Identifying barriers and impediments to investment activity and ways for their removal.  This task envisages surveying representatives of the expert and business communities in the two Oblasts, above all in the MLED Project’s partner cities. 
    4. Processing national and international best practices. This task envisages summarising international best practices and recommendations on their application. 
    5. Preparing recommendations for the implementation in the surveyed and other regions of Ukraine. This task envisages preparation of recommendations on the instruments and mechanisms that are worthwhile implementing across Ukrainian regions/cities in order to raise their investment attractiveness and investment image, as well as to attract both domestic and international investments into economic development.  
    6. Presenting findings of the survey in the three cities. This task envisages presentation of the survey results in the three Ukrainian cities (Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kyiv) to all parties concerned. Costs related to the arrangement and delivery of the presentations are borne by the MLED Project.
