• Migration between Ukraine and the EU: impact assessment of visa abolition

  (Code:2013_11)
  Objective: 

  The project is aimed at examination of migration patterns from Ukraine to the EU and assess emigration flows after possible visa abolition to elaborate policy recommendations on migration policy for Ukraine as well as enrich the discussion on the issues in public.

  Task:

  • Thorough analysis of emigration flows from Ukraine
  • Quality assessment of migration policy of Ukraine
  • Estimates of possible impact of visa liberalization on migration flows from Ukraine to the EU on the basis of specially elaborated model
  • Public discussion on key issues of migration policy in Ukraine
  • Advocacy of changes required in the migration policy of Ukraine
  • Increase in quality of public debate on migration policy of Ukraine at the level of Ukrainian experts and politicians with the use of expertise of analytical centers of V4 countries.
  Results:

  • 3 analytical papers on the issues of migration policy
  • Analytical report, which includes quality and quantitative estimates of future emigration flows from Ukraine to the EU
  • Comments in media
  • Comments on the web-site of the IER
  • Expert discussion during round table to be conducted in Kyiv
  • Increase in quality of public debate on migration policy of Ukraine at the level of Ukrainian experts and politicians with the use of expertise of analytical centers of V4 countries.
