The IER has prepared three new sectoral reports dedicated to the analysis of the mechanical engineering, light industry, and food industry sectors. The reports are based on the results of the IER’s special survey of enterprises titled "Export in Wartime", which was conducted in August 2024.
The report on machine building industry report indicates that this sector remains one of the most problematic due to slow recovery rates and difficulties in finding new markets. The main challenges for enterprises remain the lack of labor and issues with access to electricity.

The light industry, according to the survey, was able to adapt more quickly to wartime conditions by reorienting to military orders. However, the sector faces difficulties related to logistics and maintaining demand. Unstable access to electricity and a lack of labor are also key obstacles.

The food industry, on the other hand, shows a faster recovery after production declines in 2022. The sector continues to be one of the leaders among manufacturing sectors due to the demand for essential products. However, there are also challenges here—rising raw material costs and export issues due to long wait times at the border.

These studies will help businesses and stakeholders better understand the current challenges and opportunities for recovery in each of these sectors.
