What does an independent analytics mean in Ukrainian conditions? Who needs an independent analysis: authorities, politics, society or business? What should be the source of funding for independent research? These issues were discussed by leading Ukrainian and foreign experts, politicians and diplomats who participated in the round table "Independent Analysis: Is There a Demand in Ukraine?" held on December 18, 2009, at the Embassy of Germany in Kyiv.
This round table and following reception marked the tenth anniversary of the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting - a leading Ukrainian think tank, which provides decision-makers, inside and outside government, with analyses of the Ukrainian economy and economic policies and suggests policy advice on the basis of sound economic research.
"These are 10 years of our growth, strengthening, experience, and, above all, improvement of our capacity to work in the context of social transformations and to master the new challenges without losing previous achievements," - said Igor Burakovsky, Head of the Board - Director of the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting.
