The Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER) launches the Fifth Annual Survey of Importers and Exporters. The previous four waves were conducted during 2014 - 2018 as part of another project called the Trade Facilitation Dialogue.
IER will interview over 1000 businesses to get an assessment of the work of the New Customs Service of Ukraine and to learn about their experience in customs clearance. The feedback from direct users of the Customs is a prerequisite for further improvement of existing procedures and continuation of customs reforms.
On April 21, 2020, the first of the three future waves of the annual survey started.
Information will be collected by the Info Sapiens Research Agency. The survey will be conducted through telephone interviews with managers of the enterprises. The estimated duration of information collection is about two months.
The results will be processed and the relevant analytical report on the survey will be prepared by the IER.
The survey is needed to conduct independent public monitoring of the implementation of customs reforms and the establishment of a fair and transparent customs service.
The project "Support to the Initiative “For Fair and Transparent Customs” is implemented by the IER with the support of the European Union since January 2020 in order to enhance the ability of civil society to participate in economic policy-making in Ukraine through a network of NGOs by promoting the activities of the Initiative and intensifying the dialogue between the state and civil society institutions.
