  • Workshop “World Trading System: WTO and EU impact on Ukrainian business” in Dnipropetrovsk

    On November, 19, 2014 the Workshop “World Trading System: WTO and EU impact on Ukrainian business” was held in Dniptopetrovsk. Representatives of businesses, business associations, government and education participated in the Workshop carried out by the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting in cooperation with the Dnipropetrovsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

    During the Workshop representatives of the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine and National Board of Trade made following presentations:

    • Mechanisms for protecting business interests in the World Trade Organization (Mykola Ryzhenkov);
    • Transparency and Predictability of Trade Policy (Olena Buchka);
    • Instruments of trade defense (Olexandr Sukhanov);
    • The Impact of Trade Policies on the Business Climate: what has changed after Ukraine's accessionto the WTO (based on IER’s "Business Surveys") (Oksana Kuziakiv);
    • The autonomous trade preferences for Ukraine from the EU (Olexandra Nechyporenko);
    • Reform of the technical regulation system in Ukraine: The current state and prospects from the standpoint of WTO and European integration (Dmytro Lutsenko);
    • The Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU: Benefits and Challenges for Business (Igor Burakovsky).

    The event was organized in the framework of the "Trade policy and practice in Ukraine” project, which is financed by the Government of Sweden.
