Decline in industrial output in May decelerated to 2.1% yoy primarily due to statistical base effect. Output in extraction industry decreased by 3.3% yoy, which might be explained by unrest in Donetsk and Lugansk regions.

In June 2014, Petro Poroshenko, the newly elected President of Ukraine, signed a full text of the Association Agreement with the EU. It is the largest and the most ambitious international agreement ever signed by Ukraine. Its successful implementation will facilitate much needed reforms and stimulate economic growth.
