1. EU: amendments to the regulation on genetically modified food and feed
In the second half of May 2015, the European Union released a notification on the Proposal amending Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 as regards the possibility for the Member States to restrict or prohibit the use of genetically modified food and feed on their territory. Proposed date of adoption: End 2016. Proposed date of entry into force: 20 days from publication in the Official Journal of the EU. Final date for comments: August 18, 2015.
2. Norway: changes to tobacco labelling standards
In the second half of May 2015, Norway informed the WTO on the Draft amendments to the Tobacco Control Act and the Tobacco Labelling Regulations relating to Standardised Tobacco Products. Proposed date of adoption and proposed date of entry into force: to be determined. Final date for comments: August 16, 2015.
3. Czech Republic: adaptation of the requirements for milk product and edible fats to EU standards
In the second half of May 2015, the Czech Republic released a notification on the Draft Decree laying down the requirements for milk and milk products, ice creams and edible fats and oils. Proposed date of adoption: September 1, 2015. Proposed date of entry into force: March 1, 2016. Final date for comments: July 17, 2015.
