German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD). Since January 2006, APD has been providing assistance to Ukrainian politicians and lawmakers on reforming agricultural policy and legislation taking into account German experience and other countries’ practices as well as those of international organizations (EU, WTO) on the basis of market economy principles.
The project is implemented with the support of the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture and jointly coordinated by the IAK Agrar Consulting GmbH, Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), and Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM). Project executing organization in Ukraine is the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER).
Main topics are: trade in agricultural and food products; bioenergy; land markets; consumers’ rights protection; agricultural and food products value chains.
Beneficiaries of the Project are the Ministry of Agricultural Policy, other sectoral ministries, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, President’s Secretariat, other executive bodies; Verkhovna Rada; associations of agricultural producers; mass media and journalists’ associations.
