“Stories of Success and Failure in Ukraine’s Reconstruction in 2022–2025” is a unique collection of 64 real cases that show how recovery is unfolding in practice during the full-scale war. The book combines examples of effective decisions and successful projects with stories that reveal systemic problems — from non-transparent procedures to violations of the "build back better" principle. The materials are based on a large-scale civil society monitoring effort that covered around 800 facilities across ten regions of Ukraine. This collection demonstrates why trust, transparency, and community engagement are critically important for high-quality reconstruction. The book serves as a practical guide for government institutions, civil society organizations, journalists, donors, and everyone involved in rebuilding the country. It helps identify best practices, avoid common mistakes, and shape recovery that truly serves people — today
and in the future.
